On Saturday, November 20, 2021, the Camerata de’ Bardi Orchestra, opened the day of celebrations entitled ‘The Rebirth of a Masterpiece – When I am lifted up I will draw all to me’, which was held in the Pieve di San Pietro, in San Piero a Sieve, for the return of the restored Crucifix.
The day, which had the patronage of the Municipality of Scarperia and San Piero, was organized by the parish of San Piero and the Proloco of the town. The opening concert was followed by the historical-artistic conference presenting the work and the publication for the restoration of the wooden sculpture, completed in these months, after the long stop due to the pandemic We collaborated on the restoration of the wooden crucifix of the Pieve in San Piero a Sieve of the Bottega d’Arte Maselli. “It was missing three fingers of the right hand and a portion of the big toe. As a first step, we reconstructed the missing parts in clay so as to have a reference model” declares Gabriele Maselli.
